Hillsborough Officials vote to Remove I-275 widening north of Malfunction Junction

The five "Tampa-Centric" Hillsborough County Commissioner voted last week to eliminate FDOT's plan to add capacity to 10 miles of I-275 from downtown's "Malfunction Junction" to Bearss Avenue. These are the same commissioners who are sympathetic to increasing our taxes by $16B to fund a costly train from USF to downtown. This while they are getting record property tax revenues to spend and residents are dealing with soaring inflation. Over the last decade the County Commission has starved our road maintenance funds as they hold us hostage for a costly train.
