About Us

Fix Our Roads First advocates for transportation improvements in Hillsborough County that will reduce traffic congestion and improve commutes for all residents. We are opposed to the levy of a one-percent tax on the 2022 ballot because there is plenty of money to fix our roads using existing tax revenues if County Commissioners would properly prioritize spending. Hillsborough County's budget grew over 14% in the last year, from $7.5 billion in FY22 to $8.6 billion for the coming FY23. Did you get a raise like that? County Commissioners should fund our transportation needs first with existing revenue sources. They should Fix Our Roads First.

We believe road improvements should provide adequate road capacity and enhance mobility by adding new roads and widening existing ones. Unfortunately the anti-car brigade in County Center believes "road improvements" means

road diets, slower speeds and lane loss.
